Cheltzie is back in town! Great to see her smiling friendly face back at Canterbury. My girls were so excited to see her. She has matured even more with a few new tricks up her sleeve! Welcome back Cheltzie!

Yeah she went to Colorado Springs for 6 weeks. Had ball and looks really fresh and fit.
It's nice to have her back !! _________________ Oz_Sk8_Mum

| Wow! Canterbury rink is buzzing with lots of our skaters preparing for State champs in a couple of weeks! My little ones have been lucky enough to see our seniors training away. Nicholas F is looking great! Fit and looking a bit more consistent with his triples which is really good to c. Phoebe D is on the ice, leaner, focused and with a new coach! Hope to see some good things from her this season and it's great to see her back training hard! Then there's Cheltzie is looking great and seems to be a jumping machine! Saw her land some beautiful 3toe3toe combos, some nice 3flips and a few amazing 3lutzs! Go girl....though quiet, shy and unassuming she's an amazing talent! Hoping they all have a great season! |

Exciting stuff....... volunteering has its perks! I've had the pleasure of watching some really good skating this championship. Didn't get the opportunity to watch the synchro which was a shame as there was a record number of teams this year!
I'm now at work on the night shift BUT hopefully will get the chance to write a detailed note on the events I've watched thus far...novice ladies & men, junior mens had to rush out to get to work on time so missing the girls as I type.
BUT the good news is.......Senior mens AND ladies will truly be the divisions to watch. I had the pleasure of watching Matt Precious, Robert McNamara and young Cheltzie Lee at Penrith this morning and 3lz's, 3f's all over the place!! I've always been a fan of this youngman and BOY has he improved....hit a nice 3lz almost at the end of the session. He's looking really good! Robert McNamara has improved out of sight...3f and 3lz and he looked like he's just having a ball on the ice. Mark Webster and Nicholas Fernandes not on in this session.
Cheltzie ....well....she just stood out! Her jumping ability just leaves you speechless...just technically PERFECT! The jumps just seem so effortless....3lz and 3F's one right after the other. LOVE THE PROGS the SHORT PROGRAM in particular. Sassy and sexy! I was a little disappointed that I haven't seen any of those 3T3T combos...AND no sign of it in the short or long prog at states so.......maybe NOT at nationals. Would be a shame as it's quite magnificent!!! Tina Wang I think was also on the ice....NOTHING new....same old, same old....seemed a bit out of place considering what the others were doing. But Tina has always been entertaining and I'm sure she will live up to that! Can't wait to see Senior ladies and men.
Could someone report on the Junior Ladies....hate that I missed it! Seems like that was going to be a good division too! Have to run....WORK calls!! |

Well thankyou Isk8junkie
Yes Mark is not on, wasn't even on the ice. Didn't skate on Wednesday.
I think someone is telling a load of Bullsh.. or you need a new pair of glasses.
Probably BOTH
From you vast experience you can tell if someone is skating well for the season by one practice session, you are truly are gifted.
Wait till national we will see who's on and who isn't.
thanks for the support of Mark and Nick. |

I haven't seen them practice since state champs I'm afraid but looking forward to watching them ALL. I'm just jumping out of my skin that FINALLY there will be good skating....its been a while! Ah....AND no I'm no expert but I DO know good jumps when I see them!
