What can be done to improve skating in Australia?
This subject has been raised in a number of other areas in the forum.
Right now ISA (from what I understand) is approaching ice rinks to run the new Aussie skate program through their skate schools. I believe each pupil who signs up will pay a fee to cover various costs. This may be used to cover costs of promoting Ice Skating in an effort to grow the sport and hopefully raise the profile and government and corporate interest. This will also lead to a national data base of all people who have p ...
Myskatingmall.com will raise money for skating groups
Hi everyone, this is Ryan Jahnke from over in the States. I've been designing a site over the last year that I hope will be a great help to skating families and clubs.  It is http://www.myskatingmall.com.  The site will be a marketplace for new and gently used figure skating items and 5% of every purchase will be given to either the skating club or team of the people involved in the transaction. The site will act as a perpetual fundraiser for skating clubs and teams. Also, e ...
Testing in Australia
Thought I would open a new can of worms.

There are comments made a lot about our standard of tests in Australia.  They are usually along the lines of if a skater did the same test overseas they wouldn't pass.

And then you hear various comments about differing standards in the various states.

It is hard for me to really say anything because I judge but I am interested to know what people think and what comments you might hear (and willing to share).

On the other hand, do people ...
Docklands Rink website up and running
how exciting.  Last time I heard this was all still a pipedream.  I believe VIC really needs this venue and by all accounts (from looking at the website) it looks like it will be wonderful :)

New Aussie Skate Program

Another 3 months have passed, and still nothing.

In a few weeks Aussie Skate finishes here for the the school holidays, and won't restart until school goes back in mid-February.  The very time we can hope for an influx of newbies inspired by the Olympics.

Does anyone know what is happening with this new program?  Has it been rolled out anywhere since Nationals?
Christmas Shows
Everyone list your Christmas Shows here.

OFSC will be holding theirs on Saturday 12th December.  It is meant to be a theme of Disco, Funk, Soul, R&B and Blues.
