Dear all,
Due to the increasing financial constraints, aussieSKATES: Figure Skating Downunder will cease operation in March 2010 when our domain name expires.
Thank you all for your support in the last decade, particularly in the last five when we overhauled our format.
Kind regards,
Nick Pilgrim

| Thank you Nick for your support of our figure skaters over the years. As we all know this sport gets little or no coverage in any way. Any support is wonderful. You have done a terrific job! Thank you. It's sad to lose another sponser. Carole. (Robert McNamara's mother). |

I would have to second Carol's post. It will be very sad to see the site go :-(. What will happen to the websites you have set up?
Thanks for all your support Nick and we wish you the best _________________ Oz_Sk8_Mum

Thanks for your support.
For the time being, I don't know what will happen to the skaters' websites.
It's all a bit tricky handing them on to a third party as their content is the intellectual property of International Figure Skating magazine.
I may be able to figure something out between now and March, though.
Regards,
Nick Pilgrim

It will be disappointing to lose a site like aussieSKATES. Nick puts so much work into it and it makes a valuable contribution to our skating scene.
I can't think of anything at the moment but maybe by telling people now there could be a solution found in the not too distance future.
Nick - are you able to tell us what you would need to be able to continue the skater's websites or some other form of aussieSKATES? That way people might be able to work out a way to help. |

Wendy Meik from the OFSC has given me the idea to apply for one of the Sports Victoria grants being awarded soon.
If I win, the money would allow aussieSKATES to continue for another quadrennium at least, to maintain the current athlete sites, and to build new ones down the track.
Thanks again for all of your support.
Regards,
Nick Pilgrim

Have you also contacted ISA and asked them? As the websites support Australian skaters maybe they have a suggestion or know someone who could help provide a hosting service.
On the other hand is it possible you could ask for subscriptions like FSU does? How much does it cost to run?
